written feed back reviews.
so here was put all the reviews that we were given onto one sheet to see all together if it was positive or negative, we generally got the reaction we wanted, which was to create suspense for the audience leaving them wanting to know more. how ever some of the feedback on the music was negative as they didn't understand why we had used that, and if we was to make this a film then audiences would not understand why we chose to do this there for if there was anything i would change it would be the sound.

speech and prep for show case
to prepare for the show case we wrote out a sketch for the speech George would be presenting just to give him a rough idea of what to say.
Hello. Me, Serine, Mya and Ellie have worked hard on creating our 2-minute film, called ‘Made In The Estate’, opening based around a drug deal gone wrong.
We felt a UK crime drama would be engaging for a target audience for people from 16-24. In the opening we see a young boy, played by me, encounter trouble as he becomes involved in the drug business.
We tried to contrast the stereotype by having a female drug dealer, as male characters often play them as they are perceived as tougher and more dangerous.
If we finished making the rest of the film we would show the boys attempt at escaping from the trouble he gets himself into or possibly how he plans to get revenge.'

media show case filmed feedback
Above is the feedback we received from our final pieces when we showed our parents and friends. this was eye opening as it allowed us to see a wider range of opinions rather than ur own, as we had seen it over and over we were missing things, this also allowed us to get opinions from an audience with little media knowledge.

media showcase
On Monday the 20th march the media department had a showcase to put forward our two minute openings, George, who played the main character explained the genre and the narrative, although did not go into detail bout the camera work and the music which is all explained on our blogs. so most of our negative feed back was aimed at the 'shake' camera work and the music. But the whole audience understood the narrative by watching the clip and agreed that the chosen genre fits the conventions.
some of the positive feed back related to how the opening made them film was basically the audience wanted to know what happened next to the boy and they felt sorry for him, how ever one not negative but not the best comment was the the viewer was left confused, to be honest i don't understand why they were confused so to step further i feel that they should have elaborated on it, this person also wanted more dialogue, this feedback could just be because the type of film that this viewer watches are not usually like the one we made.

update on Beauty And The Beast
So previously i spoke about my trip to go and see Beauty And The Beast, so I thought the film was great, I felt that the different shots really replicated the cartoon version, and Emma Watson did a great job asa playing Bell, however in the beginning of the film i felt that she looked nervous and awkward and int he cartoon Bells character is more different and intelligent rather than awkward.
However i asked my two younger sisters what they thought of it and they both said that it was too realistic even though it was supposed to be a realistic version of the cartoon, although this could be because of their age and their fantasies on the cartoon, so the new one could have destroyed the dream

certificates
The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), originally British Board of Film Censors, is a non-governmental organisation, funded by the film industry and responsible for the national classification of films within the United Kingdom. It has a statutory requirement to classify videos, DVDs and some video games under the Video Recordings Act 2010.
Here you can see the clear classifications for all films.
I feel our film would be rated either a 12A or a 15. I feel think this would be suitable as there could be stronger language and scenes of a sexual nature if we were to continue our opening into a full length film

disability in the media
after talking about disability and how it is portrayed in the media i watched an episode of 'undatables' to see if this followed the stereo type of the negative weak vulnerable people. after watching, i noticed that the programme actuallly gives the disabled people some power and an idea of a more abled persons life by allowing them to find love. how ever why use their struggle to find love as a source of entertainment for the more abled society, as if the media are humiliating them in a discrete manner. Also the name Undatables also is quite a derogatory term to call these people as it states that they are unable to do something hat their disability should not effect.

fonts and text type
after talking to the group and taking into consideration the advice from our peers we have found a font that compliments both the genre of our film and our actual footage. We have decided to use STENCIL STD in WHITE, we will use the same font for both the film title and opening credits. The only difference for the openings credits is that there will be a black outline, we feel as though this will help the titles stand out but not take too much attention away from the actual content of the film opening.

reaction 2 off peers
so we showed our semi final opening to our other media peers, to see if they could pick up on anything we had missed out, or anything that didn't sit right with them.
plus we needed to get some guidance and a response from Miss Foster and check whether she could pick up on any improvements that we could make for our final. She
1) T the move between our titles were too sharp and we ought to play around with that.
2) The second recommendation she made was that not every one of our titles take after customary opening successions.
So in view of this we started to roll out a few improvements.

production companys
we decided as a group the out 'dab productions' was not suitable or proffesinal enough for a production company, so we went out and took two pictures to use as other commons who were 'involved' in there making of our opening.

removal of establishing shots
So we originally finished our two minute film opening and it was not long enough, we also didn't know how to put on our titles so we decided to extend out film by adding more establishing shots to the beginning of the surrounding area of our film so that we could put our title sequences on that, how ever we then realised that it did not suit the theme of our opening. it looked like this

explaining the lighting
I want to us this post to clear up the distinction in lighting in two sections of the 2 minute film opening. The start is brilliantly lit, as the main character i goes from walking down the stairs into the car the lighting continuously gets to slightly darker So I need to legitimize the reason behind why we chose for there to be distinctive lighting focuses. We did this since we felt just as it would be good pathetic fallacy and add to the extreme atmosphere, and allow that to belie up for the following scenes. In any case, I understand that it may not appear that way to an audience so therefor as a group we will explain to our class why we have decided to do this and see their reactions and gather their thoughts on it. below you can see the slight difference in the light sequence.

Gangster's Paradise: Jerusalema (2008)

' A young hoodlums rise from a small-time criminal to a powerful crime entrepreneur during the turbulent years before and after the fall of apartheid'
This film is about life in south Africas about how an intelligent child with the same hopes and dreams as anyone else; an education a job a family and hard work, he wishes to get these through legitimate ways how ever he lets his dreams fall and turns to a life of crime because it is the only thing he can do. the film is great as i shows how the idea of crime and loss of innocence is shown universally. Not just in the society that you live in, that it does happen a lot universally.

power (2014)
'James "Ghost" St. Patrick, a wealthy New York night club owner who has it all, catering for the city's elite and dreaming big, lives a double life as a drug kingpin.'
power is a great series that makes the audience just want to keep watching, 50 cent has done a really good job with this film balancing out the story line through out the scenes.the show seems like a genuine life of someone in his position and is not over exaggerated making the story is very appealing. i feel that for some people is could be quite overwhelming as the sex drugs and violence is so raw how ever this is the reality of someone with that life style, and should be seen asm ore of an eye opener.

1st Audience reaction
So when we had done our first minute of the opening we decided to have an audience reaction to see if our idea for the rest of the opening seemed like it was going to work, and based on the reaction it seemed good so we will now do another reaction in our Wednesday lesson and see if it worked, we have not finished our credits yet but that will come soon.
title sequence
So, when we finally come round to putting in our credits, we were struggling to think of different ways to put them in with out making them look boring or dull, so we looked at a few of the past openings from previous years and this helped s decide on how to do ours, we liked the title in the 2015 opening oblivion when the two characters walk across the writing and it disappears.
skip to 1.06 to see.

vlog 2 -final day filming
This was our final day filming, we had to film the scene where the bo gets the bag put over his head because we realised that it dint look real enough he diffident look scared enough. We also had to film some title sequence scenes as out actual opening was only 2 mins 30 we had to make it longer by adding in some scenes from the begginging.

La LA Land

On the 15/01/17 i went to watch La La Land, its a 2016 American romantic musical comedy-drama film written and directed by Damien Chazelle,The plot follows a musician and an aspiring actress who meet and fall in love in Los Angeles. The film's title refers both to the city of Los Angeles and to the idiom for being out of touch with reality.
Personally I liked the film although the middle bit dragged on a bit and i was uninterested, how ever the end bits plot twist did sort of wake me up and engage me back into to the story as it does not have a cliche ending. For a musical it didn't not have that many song in it which i thought was a bit odd, but then i liked the fact there was more of a story rather than just having songs thrown at the audience.
The film was produced by Fred Berger, Gary Gilbert, Jordan Horowitz and Marc Platt. It was written by damien Chazelle. it stars Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, John Legend and Rosemarie Dewitt. the cast were great and their quirky characters really fir the part for the story. all in all i really enjoyed the film and would recomend it to any one.

Straight Outta Compton essay
So my first attempt of an essay question dint go too well. the exam question was 'cross media convergence and synergy are a vital process on the successful marketing of media products to audience. The two films i chose to write about were Straight Outta Compton and Avengers, i choose these two films because i had done a power point on Straight Outta Compton already so i had a head start on their producing background and i chose to do avengers because they had a lot of synergy in the making of their film as they had lots of merchandise and advertised it a lot, for example they had made pizza boxes and popcorn bags with marvel comic strips on them, this, i felt would have made a good essay, how ever i did struggle with it.
The feed back i got from my teacher was 'good- you just need to do more work researching your case studies' and ' you can write - but if you have nothing to write about then ...'
This helped me understand that i am babbling and 'beating round the bush' i discovered i need to get straight to the point and use more key terms instead of avoiding them and trying to explain each word.
For my first essay i got a total of 16/50 this was disappointing but now i know what i need to improve on, i will take that on board and hopefully do better next time.

BFI trip
The BFI Film Center
On Friday the 11 November, we took a trip to the BFI Film Centre, here we spent the day listening to examiners talk about what they look for in as course work, and he gave us prep talks and showed us some good examples of some past two minuet film openings and some bad ones. This gave us more of an insight to what they were looking for in a good opening.hey also brought in a visitor, the man who directed Eddie the eagle, the elephant man and kick-ass, Dexter fletcher, he helped us understand that filming a movie is not easy, he told us the story of how he made one of his latest films....... he explained that no matter what the weather or conditions of the day you plan to film you need to commit, because filming costs a lot of money and the longer it takes to film the more expensive it is, so commitment is key when filming, there for our group had taken that on board and had to carefully plan out when we were going to film, for example on out 2nd day filming we had to make sure the parking space was available and that any cars that were seen in the previous shots were either there or we changed the camera angle so that our continuity was good.

music for film opening
As our chosen song for our opening is copy righted we have had to find someone who can actually play this piece, luckily one of the relatives of one of our team is able to play it there for we have recorded her playing it and transferred that onto imovie9.
