BFI trip

The BFI Film Center

On Friday the 11 November, we took a trip to the BFI Film Centre, here we spent the day listening to examiners talk about what they look for in as course work, and he gave us prep talks and showed us some good examples of some past two minuet film openings and some bad ones. This gave us more of an insight to what they were looking for in a good opening.hey also brought in a visitor, the man who directed Eddie the eagle, the elephant man and kick-ass, Dexter fletcher, he helped us understand that filming a movie is not easy, he told us the story of how he made one of his latest films....... he explained that no matter what the weather or conditions of the day you plan to film you need to commit, because filming costs a lot of money and the longer it takes to film the more expensive it is, so commitment is key when filming, there for our group had taken that on board and had to carefully plan out when we were going to film, for example on out 2nd day filming we had to make sure the parking space was available and that any cars that were seen in the previous shots were either there or we changed the camera angle so that our continuity was good.
